The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation (MTJF) is happy to announce the 14th annual Catwalk for a Cause will descend upon the Revelry in Charlotte, N.C. on September 18th.

MTJF will host its signature event in collaboration with the newly formed Sherry Strong Foundation. The Sherry Strong Foundation was created to carry on the legacy of Sherry Pollex and to educate and raise funds for integrative medicine oncology programs across the country.

Catwalk for a Cause was a dream come true for the late Sherry Pollex (former Vice President of the MTJF) and Martin Truex Jr. in 2009. The vision was to empower children with a recent cancer diagnosis to be the star of the show for one night. The children are paired with a NASCAR driver and their significant other to walk the runway in front of a crowd of over 400 supporters.

“We are looking forward to continuing Catwalk for a Cause in conjunction with Sherry Strong,” said NASCAR Champion, Martin Truex Jr. “The event is always such a special night for children and their families going through an unimaginable diagnosis. To be able to put a smile on these kids’ faces and raise a lot of money in support of integrative treatment to help them on their journey is what it is all about.”

Since the event’s inception, Catwalk for a Cause has raised over 5 million dollars for pediatric and ovarian cancer initiatives. This year’s theme will be a magical fairy garden with a special look-back on the highlights from 14 years of Catwalk memories.

“We are so excited to continue to collaborate with the MTJ Foundation on this magical show for yet another year,” shared Jill Burgdoff, President of Sherry Strong. “There is nothing like seeing the joy on the children’s faces as they step out onto the runway. Sherry will be there is spirit, and her energy will be felt for sure.”
